Razzy Peach Chill

Day 75

Razzy Peach Chill
4 shots out of 5

Felt like pulling out the blender again and having another blended cocktail.

Since I only have my 4 purees so far, I thought I'd try to blend a couple of them together and make a new flavor.

I chose raspberry and peach.

Because, why not?

I call it Razzy Peach Chill!

I gave tonight's cocktail 4 shots out of 5.

This blended cocktail is a pretty good one.

Raspberry and Peach are a pretty good match and I am really enjoying drinking this cocktail.

I like raspberry flavor in my cocktails in general, so I figured adding raspberry and peach might be good.

(Side note: Raspberry margaritas are the flavor that I usually order because it cuts out that tequila taste quite well.)

Sometimes I am hesitant when ordering a margarita.

Not because I don't like margaritas (that would be obserd!), but for the reason that there is tequila in it.

What there's tequila in margaritas?  Jen you must be crazy!!

Yes we all know that there is tequila in margaritas, I'm just not a fan of it.  That's why if I'm feeling a little scared about ordering a regular margarita, I go with a raspberry one to hide it's flavor.

OK, sorry that was a margarita tangent!  Back to today's cocktails.

I was talking about my purees.  Now I do need to get some more flavors of purees so that I can experiment with their flavors more.  I know they have a strawberry one......but I'm hoping they have some different flavors out there that I haven't seen yet.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is the recipe for the Razzy Peach Chill:

  • 1 1/2 shots rum
  • 1 1/2 shot peach puree
  • 1/2 shot raspberry puree
  • 1/2 shot peach schnapps
  • 1/2 shot sweet & sour mix

In a blender add a cup of ice, rum, peach puree, raspberry puree, peach schnapps and sweet & sour mix.  Blend up your ingredients until all of the ice is gone, you don't want your cocktail crunchy!

Cheers to the word Razzy!  I just really like that word and felt like incorporating it in the name of tonight's cocktail!!

Cheers!!

Parrot Perch

Day 74

Parrot Perch
3.5 shots out of 5

Where did the weekend go?

I swear it just began.

Back to the regular routine tomorrow.

This weekend is just about over which makes it the perfect time for a cocktail!

As if I needed a reason right?  Ha

What's on the menu for tonight?  Parrot Perch is what is on the menu for tonight's cocktail.

I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.

This is a pretty good cocktail.

It isn't strong in the banana department like some of my other cocktails have been, but I can definitely taste the difference when I use an actual banana instead of just the banana liqueur.

I like the liqueur better.  It has a better taste to me.  When you just use a banana the flavor doesn't come through as much as  the liqueur.

Next time I'll have to try using the liqueur instead.

Don't get me wrong.  It's a nice cocktail.

If you were offering me another one I'd take it, but I don't think I'd order it at a bar.

If I was to be at a bar and pay for a cocktail I would want more banana flavor inside my cocktail.

This is another great thing about having my very own bar at my home.  I don't feel like I'm wasting money on cocktails that I don't like.

That being said, I'm glad I tried it.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is the recipe for Parrot Perch:

  • 1 1/2 shots coconut rum
  • 1/2 shot triple sec
  • 1 small banana (I used a little more then 1/2 of a large banana)
  • 3 shots orange juice
  • 1 shot banana liqueur

In a blender add 1 cup ice, rum, triple sec, banana, orange juice and banana liqueur.  Blend until all of the ice is gone and as is the banana.  Pour and enjoy!

Here's to finally trying an actual banana in one of my cocktails instead of just the liqueur!

Cheers!

Banana Mango Delight

Day 73

Banana Mango Delight
5 shots out of 5

It's no secret........I like the banana flavor in my cocktails.

I have discovered the banana puree and thought it was amazing.

I also discovered banana liqueur and holy Mama, I absolutely love this stuff!!

I haven't put it in a cocktail that I have not liked yet!

Yes I know, for those of you who have not tried a cocktail with banana liqueur in it, the thought of it might sound odd, disgusting, yucky....I'm sure the list goes on.

I have to say........if you do like bananas, I recommend that you try it!  You may just be pleasantly surprised!

I gave tonight's cocktail 5 shots out of 5.

I LOVE this cocktail.

I think I'm going to be making myself another one after I'm done typing this blog!

In fact, yes I will be!

What a ride this blog has taken me on.

There's more liqueurs out there then I could have possibly imagined when I started this blog.

Vodka seems to come in just about every flavor I can think of, and many more that I would never have thought of in a million years.

I know that some of you have bought some of these liqueurs along with me and tried and liked them.

I cheers you all that have taken the plunge like me and tried something new along with me.  No more vodka cran days!

Not another rum and coke will be ordered (unless that's all there is, then bring it on with an olive!).

Here is a photo of the end result:

Artificial Intelligence

Day 72

Artificial Intelligence
3 shots out of 5

Day 72 and still going strong!

Happy Friday night, what a long week that was.

Time for a warm weekend full of sports, sports and more sports!  Don't forget the cocktails!!  I sure know I won't.

Tonight's cocktail is Artificial Intelligence.

I gave tonight's cocktail 3 shots out of 5.

This cocktail kinda tastes.......like......nuth'n.

I mean there's some taste to it, obviously enough for me to give it 3 shots and continue drinking it.

It just doesn't scream "I'm an awesome cocktail, you want to devour me and go for seconds!!".

Well my Alien Urine Sample was a very good one, but the Artificial Intelligence......aaahhh, I've had better.

Anyway, it's not going to ruin my weekend!

It's supposed to be hotter tomorrow, so maybe I'll pull out the blender and give it a whirl!

Side note:  I still completely fail at "floating" an alcohol on top of a cocktail.  As you can see the melon liqueur is on the bottom of my cocktail.  Cocktail Lady 0 shots out of 5 for Floating.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here's a photo of the ingredience:

Here's the recipe for Artificial Intelligence:

  • 1/2 shot light rum
  • 1/2 shot dark rum
  • 1/2 shot coconut rum
  • dash of lime juice
  • 3 shots pineapple juice
  • 1/2 shot melon liqueur

In a shaker add ice, light rum, dark rum, coconut rum, lime juice and pineapple juice.  Shake it up real well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.  Float melon liqueur on top.

Cheers to the weekend!  It couldn't have come fast enough!  Hope you all enjoy your weekend and might even try a new cocktail during it!

Cheers!!

Electric Parrothead

Day 71

Electric Parrothead
3.5 shots out of 5

The weekend is almost here!

Froze at our oldest son's baseball game tonight, so glad his weekend game is earlier in the day!

Came home and it was time to make tonight's cocktail.

I figured I'd use my new Spiced Rum in a cocktail tonight, so I chose Electric Parrothead.

I gave tonight's cocktail 3.5 shots out of 5.

Personally I think I would have gone 1 of 2 different ways with this cocktail.

Either, skip the spiced rum and just stuck with the coconut rum.

Or decreased the spiced rum to 1/2 shot and either upped the coconut rum by 1/2 shot or the pineapple juice by 1/2 a shot (depending on how coconut-ey I'm feeling).

I think the spiced rum is a bit too spicy for this cocktail, but it wasn't horrible where I couldn't finish it.  It's not bad.......I'd just have made it a little different is all.

Here is a photo of the end result:

electric parrothead cocktail, coconut rum, malibu rum, spiced rum, clue curacao, pineapple juice

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

electric parrothead cocktail, coconut rum, malibu rum, spiced rum, clue curacao, pineapple juice

Here is the recipe for Electric Parrothead:

  • 1 shot coconut rum
  • 1 shot spiced rum
  • 1/2 shot blue curacao
  • 1 1/2 shots pineapple juice

In a shaker add ice, coconut rum, spiced rum, blue curacao and pineapple juice.  Shake up your ingredients real good.  Pour everything into a tall glass.

Cheers to tomorrow being Friday and the weekend being so close I can almost touch it!

The Drunken Milkmaid

Day 70

The Drunken Milkmaid
4.5 shots out of 5

First off, I would like to say Happy 70th Day of Cocktails!

Thank You to all of those who have been with me from Day 1 and also to those of you who have found me along the way!

I am having a really fun time making and trying all of these cocktails, as I hope you are having fun reading about them and maybe even trying some of them along with me.

I must say that so far the cocktail recipes that I have received from all of you have been really good ones!

I haven't had a bad recipe from a reader yet!  I love trying the cocktails you all love to drink at home.

I gave tonight's cocktail 4.5 shots out of 5.

I received this recipe from Kera, Thank You Kera!!

The Drunken Milkmaid is a good cocktail that is perfectly mixed (in my opinion of course) by all of its ingredients.  If you notice, the glass has been "designed" a bit different tonight from when I designed the glass for Brown Lady.

Reason being........my husband wanted to design tonight's glass.......but.........I think he used a "bit" too much chocolate?

Anyways, it tastes very yummy with the amount he used and I know it would taste yummy with even less chocolate syrup.

I must say....as I am typing this blog and looking at the chocolate that has now collected more toward the bottom of my glass....I just realized that I was supposed to put whipped cream on top of it!

I even have it out on the counter.

I'm sorry Kera, I wish I would have remembered about it.....instead of being too excited to drink it.

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

Here is the recipe for The Drunken Milkmaid:

  • 1/2 shot kahlua
  • 1/2 shot creme de cacao
  • 1/2 shot butterscotch schnapps
  • 1/2 shot amaretto
  • 1/2 shot milk
  • chocolate syrup
  • whipped cream (which I totally forgot)

In a shaker add ice, kahlua, creme de cacao, butterscotch schnapps, amaretto and milk.  Shake it up really well so that all of the ingredients get blended well.  Strain it into a martini glass that has been "designed" with chocolate syrup.  Top with whipped cream (still mad that I forgot that) and enjoy!

A big Thank You to Kera for this lovely cocktail!

I have to say that I was always skeptical about chocolate syrup in your cocktail until I tried the Brown Lady and The Drunken Milkmaid.

Not anymore though!  It's a wonderful touch, I must say!

Cheers!!

Volga Boatman

Day 69

Volga Boatman
1 shot out of 5

One of my newest liqueurs to acquire a space on my shelf is the cherry liqueur.  Tonight is our first meeting, and I have to say......I'm not impressed.  I will give it another shot down the line if I find a cocktail that it's in that I think sounds good, but until then, it will sit on my shelf.

I gave tonight's cocktail 1 shot out of 5.  I gave it 1 shot and not 0 because I did go back for 3 whole sips just to make sure that it was as bad the second and third time as it was the first.  It was.  One of my very first cocktails I'd ever really liked was a screwdriver.  I thought this would be a nice twist to it with the cherry liqueur......no such luck.  I'd rather have just had a plain old screwdriver, which there is nothing wrong with.  Oh well, can't win them all and tonight definitely proves that!

Here is the recipe for a Volga Boatman:

  • 1 1/2 shots vodka (cherry vodka "might" have been better)
  • 1 shot cherry liqueur
  • 1 shot orange juice
In a shaker add ice, vodka, cherry liqueur and orange juice.  Shake up your ingredients really well to get them all mixed up well.  Strain your cocktail into a chilled martini glass and add a cherry (if you like).

Here is a photo of tonight's cocktail:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

I hope to find another cocktail to try the cherry liqueur in that I really do like!  Let me know if you have any recipes that include it!

Cheers!!

Chai Berry Martini

Day 68

Chai Berry Martini
4.5 shots out of 5

Welcome to my blog Voyant Chai Cream Liqueur!  This liqueur is very very yummy!  I had never heard of it until Trisha emailed me about it.  Unfortunately it is not yet distributed in my state, so I was unable to go to my local liquor or grocery store and purchase it.  I then decided to email the manufacturer and find out how I can get a bottle of it so that I could try it and blog about it.  I honestly didn't think I would get an email back, but within an hour I checked my inbox and not only had I received an email back from the company stating that they would send me a bottle of their Voyant Chai Cream Liqueur, then even said that they would send me a bottle of their Spiced Rum to try as well!!  I promised to try and blog about them both, and you can find my review for each of their two items they sent me on my Product Review tab.

I gave tonight's cocktail 4.5 shots out of 5.  I really like the flavors I taste in this cocktail!  The three ingredients compliment each other quite well.  I would love to try this liqueur in other cocktails as well, so stay tuned for that!  This martini is definitely creamy and I have to say I have not had one like this before.  Most of the martini's I make are fruity and not creamy, but this is a nice change.  Thank You Trisha for sparking my interest in finding and trying this cream liqueur!  I am enjoying it a lot!

Here is the recipe for a Chai Berry Martini:

  • 1 shot vanilla vodka
  • 2 shots Voyant Chai Cream Liqueur
  • 1 shot Chambord
In a shaker add ice, vanilla vodka, Voyant Chai Cream Liqueur and Chambord.  Shake it up real well so that everything blends together real good.  Strain your cocktail into a chilled martini glass and enjoy!

Here is a photo of the end result:

Here is a photo of the ingredients:

I want to say a big Thank You to the people who made tonight's cocktail happen.  Your Voyant Chai Cream Liqueur is amazingly good!!

Cheers!!

Bacmar International LLC. Review

4/23/2012

BACMAR INTERNATIONAL LLC.

Bacmar International LLC. shipped me a box with 2 of their products inside as well as a flier and recipe booklet.  I was sent a free product to review in exchange for my honest opinion.  All views in this post are mine and I was not compensated for them in any way.

Here is a photo of what I received:

Here are the two bottles:

My husband and I opened up the bottle of their Spiced Rum called "The Lash" first.  On the flier they sent us it shows that you should enjoy this rum either "Neat" (which means pouring it into a cocktail glass by itself) or "On The Rocks" (which means putting ice into your cocktail glass before pouring the rum inside).  We chose to try it "On The Rocks".

I must say, WOW!  As you all know I am not one who likes the straight up flavor of alcohol and will usually mask it with fruit mixes or something else.  This rum "The Lash", I could HONESTLY drink it as is on the rocks!  The flavors in this rum were VERY good.  I could definitely taste the oakey flavor as well as the spices.  My husband and I both could taste what we believe is clove flavoring in the rum which is a very nice touch.  I would definitely buy this rum again and again if they sold it in our state!  I could see myself buying it for my friends and family who enjoy rum as well.  All in all, The Lash got 5 shots out of 5 from The Cocktail Lady!!

Here are photos of how we enjoyed it:

Next I opened up the bottle of Voyant Chai Cream Liqueur.  First I smelled the inside of the bottle, yum!  It smelled like a Starbucks Chai Lattel!  I couldn't wait to try it, so I poured a small amount into my shot glass and took a sip.  This stuff is GOOD!  It actually tasted a bit like Egg Nog to me, which I surprisingly really liked!  I had my husband try it too and he said the same thing.  I could not wait to try it in a cocktail........so why wait?  Tonight's cocktail is a Chai Berry Martini.  Voyant Chai got 5 shots out of 5 from The Cocktail Lady as well!!

Here is a photo of the Voyant Chai Cream Liqueur bottle:

If and when they start distributing these two items in my state I guarantee that I will DEFINITELY buy them both again!  Thank You to Bacmar International LLC. for making and shipping these products to me to try.  I will be enjoying these two bottles for nights to come!   Cheers!!

I want to include the web sites for each item that they've sent me.  Check them out!  I can't wait until they distribute in my state!!

Mother Earth

Day 67

Mother Earth
4.5 shots out of 5

Mother Earth cocktail, great for Earth Day or any day.

Happy Earth Day!!

To celebrate I made a Mother Earth cocktail I found online!

I have to admit this cocktail sort of looks like my Pineapple Upside Down Cake Martini, but definitely tastes a lot better!

I am really enjoying this Mother Earth on Earth Day!

I gave tonight's cocktail 4.5 shots out of 5.

I'm convinced that it's the banana liqueur that makes this cocktail great.......but I'm sure it's because I'm bias and love the stuff!!

These ingredients actually all work well together.

I shook this cocktail up really well and made it kinda frothy on the top which I think adds to its yummyness.

I would definitely make this cocktail on Earth Day again....and on other days when I'm feeling Earthy....or even when I'm not feeling Earthy and just want a good cocktail.

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!  We sure did here, the weather was amazing and gave us all the charge we needed.
